Find out what you need to do in order to receive your certificate, whether or not you are attending your graduation ceremony.

Essential information

Your name

Certificates and ceremony programmes must show your full legal name. 

Every year we are unable to issue certificates or they are returned after posting due to incorrect name details. You may have accents or diacritics not used in Standard English. If this is the case and they are part of your legal name, please complete the contact us form and attach a copy of your supporting documentation.

Any amendments should be reported to your school/College office to ensure that our records show your full legal name. You may be charged £50.00 for a reprint at a later date if your name is incorrect.

Collection

For students attending the ceremonies we aim to have your certificate ready for collection after you have crossed the stage.

Every effort is made to have all certificates ready, however, this may not be possible where examination boards have been held very close to the ceremony.

If you do not collect your certificate on the day, it will be possible to collect it on the following days only from 272 High Holborn:

  • Camberwell; Chelsea; London College of Fashion – Wednesday 2 August
  • Central Saint Martins; London College of Communication – Thursday 3 August.

Certificates must be collected by the student who has received the award.

If you wish a friend or family member to collect it on your behalf you must complete the contact us form with the full name of the person who is collecting it.

It will not be possible to release any certificates prior to the graduation ceremonies.

If you do not collect your certificate as advised above, it will be posted out to you at the end of academic year. It will be posted to the address that you entered using the Student Contact Management System.

Debts

Certificates are withheld if tuition feesare outstanding. However, it is expected that you will clear all liabilities before you complete your degree, these include:

  • fees of any description e.g. tuition, exam/registration, halls of residence
  • library books or fines
  • materials or equipment debts
  • loans from hardship or welfare funds that are unpaid
  • should you lose your certificate and need a replacement to seek a replacement
  • an administrative charge will be made so please look after your certificate as you will need it for job/visa applications and entry for higher qualifications.

If you have lost your BA or MA ccertficate contact awards@arts.ac.uk

If you gave lost your FE certificate for a Foundationcourse contact feoffice@arts.ac.uk

Research degrees

The Research Support office informs the awards team of candidates for Ph.D. and M.Phil. when they have completed the academic requirements for their awards so that invitations may be issued. However, if you have received your result letter and you haven’t heard from us regarding your invitation, please contact graduation@arts.ac.uk including your name/student id and mobile number so we can contact you.
