Online Document Submission Tool

PebblePad is an online tool which enables applicants to upload additional requirements to support their application.

If you are required to submit additional requirements via PebblePad, you will be sent an email with your user name and password and a link to access the system.

If you are applying to multiple courses, each course which requires work from you will send you a separate email. Your PebblePad login details will remain the same for each course you apply to.

The PebblePad system itself will contain detailed instructions on how to upload and submit what is required for each course.

You may find instructions on using PebblePad specific to your level of study as well as General FAQs applicable to all applicants, below:

PebblePad FAQs

Pre-Degree Courses

When and how do I upload my portfolio using PebblePad?

Not all applicants will need to use PebblePad, as some applicants might be invited to attend a Portfolio Review.

If you are not able to attend a Portfolio Review, you will be emailed with a request to upload a Portfolio via PebblePad.

  1. Once you log in and click on the course that you need to create a portfolio for, click on the ‘Portfolio’ tab at the top left of the page.
  2. To upload a file, click on the ‘choose media’ button to select the files you want to upload.

Can I submit extra images or send an additional portfolio?

No, we believe in fair admissions so we expect applicants per course to submit the same amount of images so that they can be fairly assessed.

Some courses ask for more files than others but all applicants for that course will need to submit the same amount.

We may ask applicants to submit a full portfolio if we ask them to come for an interview and they are unable to attend.

Do I have to use PebblePad or can I just bring a physical portfolio into the college?

If you are asked to submit a portfolio to PebblePad then it will be as part of the initial assessment. Based on the portfolio that you submit, you may subsequently be asked to come for an interview, in which case then you would need to bring your full portfolio with you.

Some courses will ask you to come to interview without requesting that you submit an online portfolio in PebblePad, in which case you would bring your full portfolio with you to interview.

General FAQs

When will I hear if my submission has been successful?

We try to consider applications quickly but some courses have high numbers of applications to review.

For UCAS applicants only, all decisions will be sent to your UCAS Track and we will email you if we would like to invite you to interview. We always aim to return decisions to you by the Reject by Default deadlines.

How do I know if my work has been received?

You will receive an email telling you that your work has been submitted successfully.

You should also see a “Submitted” status on the home screen of your PebblePad account.

Can I change my work after I have submitted?

Unfortunately your submitted work is final and you cannot change the content.

I submitted by accident – what can I do?

If this happens, respond to your PebblePad submission invitation email and we will check with the relevant Admissions Team regarding whether or not they will accept a late submission.

I can’t see all the courses in PebblePad that I have applied to

Not all courses will look at your application at the same time so you will be emailed individually when each course is ready for you to upload your work.

Can I submit my work after the deadline date?

If you are concerned that you cannot meet your deadline or you have already missed your deadline, you should respond to your PebblePad submission invitation email and we will respond to you as soon as possible regarding whether or not the course accepts late submissions.

Please note, there is no guarantee that the course will consider work submitted late and your application may be withdrawn.

Can I format text in PebblePad?

Yes, text in PebblePad may be formatted to change the font size and colour by selecting the text and right clicking on it to get formatting options.

How do I add a link in PebblePad?

All applicants required to submit a portfolio must provide images in accordance with the instructions on the Applicant tab in PebblePad. You cannot submit your portfolio as a link; however, you can add a link to additional content.

Hyperlinks may be added by selecting the text you want to hyperlink and right clicking on it. This brings up the option to add a hyperlink to a specific part of the text. Please note, hyperlinks may only be added to tabs which accept text.

What types of files can I upload to my portfolio?

For applicants who are requested to provide a portfolio, the only files that can be uploaded as part of the portfolio are:

  • Images: bmp, gif, jpg, jpeg, png
  • Audio: mp3, mp4, ogg, wav, wma
  • Video: avi, mp4, mpg, mpeg, mkv, mov, wmv

What is the maximum file limit?

Individual images should be no larger than 1024 x 768 pixels.
