UAL Student Survey (USS)

The UAL Student Survey (USS) is an annual survey of all year 1 and 2 undergraduate students and is your opportunity to tell us about your total experience at UAL.

This includes your course and everything else too – for example: libraries, technicians, guest lecturers, visiting practitioners and external trips.

The survey is entirely run and managed by UAL and is not linked to any external company or government policy. We’ve designed this survey because we’re interested in the experience of all of our undergraduate students and the opportunity it gives you to make an impact whilst you’re still studying with us.

Why should I take part?

By taking part you can inspire change – your feedback will help us to improve UAL for you and for future students.

As a thank you for your time, you will be entered into a college prize draw for a chance to win a £300 Amazon voucher or one of two £25 Amazon vouchers. 

How do I take part?

All eligible students will receive a link via email to complete the survey. Alternatively, you can access the survey online.

The 2018 UAL Student Survey opens on 1 May and will close on 25 May.

You will then be asked to answer 28 questions which are grouped into the following areas:

  • The teaching on my course
  • Learning opportunities
  • Assessment and feedback
  • Academic support
  • Organisation and management
  • Learning resources
  • Learning community
  • Diversity
  • Student voice
  • Overall
  • Any additional comments

The survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete and your feedback is anonymous.

What happens next?

A summary of responses will be reported back at course level and used to make positive changes to the student experience. 

Feedback from the survey will not be shared outside of UAL and is not linked to any government policy.
