What students can expect from us
- We will explain what we can do for them, what they need to do, and if there are any costs
- Our information is up-to-date
- We are impartial
- Our staff are appropriately trained to deliver a professional service in their area of expertise
- We work to quality standards
- We work to the University's Equal Opportunities Policy
- We evaluate and review our work, and we value feedback
- We may keep records of any interaction with students, in accordance with data protection legislation
- The content of any interaction with us will be confidential within Student Services. (No details will normally be released to a third party without consent unless staff believe there is a risk to a student's welfare or the welfare of other people.)
What we ask students in return
- To take an active part in the process of identifying and exploring their options and opportunities
- To keep to drop-in, workshop and agreed appointment times, and contact us if they know they cannot attend
- To bring any relevant materials with them
- To show a responsible attitude towards staff and other students
- To help us improve the service by making suggestions for improvements and telling us what they think about the help they were given, and by using our complaints procedure if they want to make a complaint about Student Services
