Religious and Spiritual Life

People at the University of the Arts London have come from all over the world, from all sorts of backgrounds, with different perspectives on life and how the world works. We all place differing degrees of importance on our religious or spiritual convictions. For some people their faith is deeply important, for others it is less so, for others still, it is irrelevant or does not exist.

Students and staff come from many different religious backgrounds and from none at all. Studying at the University of the Arts London and living in a multicultural world city like London presents many opportunities to learn and grow - and sometimes get confused!

The Chaplaincy Service is here to support you, and to help you work things out: how your studies and career fit into the wider scheme of life, how you decide what's important to you in life and what you can do to explore the religious and spiritual dimensions of life.

Mind-Space (term time):

Led by Chaplains, these lunchtime 20 minute sessions aim to provide some space and time to relax, to refocus the mind and refresh the spirit. The aim is to refocus the mind and refresh the spirit. Mindfulness (or Meditation) can improve your concentration, creativity and general well-being.You don't need to be religious or commit yourself to regular attendance.

Tuesdays at High Holborn: 1.05pm - 1.30pm Activities Studio, Ground Floor

Wednesday at CSM King's Cross: 12 - 12.30pm Room 103, Block D (from 25th April to 30th May)

Thursdays at LCC: 1.05pm- 1.30pm Tower Block Room T604

The sky picture designs on some of the Chaplaincy pages were created by former LCC student Kumi Kato. Her design concept was inspired by these words she wrote down: 'The sky is eternal, always beautiful. Everyday there must be morning, noon and night. The sky connects each person. And if the sky exists with us, people live together. Under the sky, everybody is alike.'
