Disclosing your Disability

Confidentiality and Disclosure

You can seek information advice or support from the University Disability Service in confidence. No information about your enquiry (or even confirmation that you have been in touch) will normally be passed to a third party without your consent. (We will ask for your written or recorded consent when you first contact the Team)

Information would only be passed to another department of the University or a third party without your consent in the most exceptional circumstances and wherever possible we would try to discuss this with you first.

Generally these circumstances would include if we were concerned you were at risk or were a risk to others, if you are under 18 and there is a child protection concern or if disclosure is required by law.

You can find out more by downloading our Confidentiality Policy Statement.

If you are concerned about confidentiality, please contact the Central Services Disability Team.
