Setting up your University Network Account
Email and Blackboard
Whilst studying at the University, all electronic communication will be via your University email address. You will only be able to set up your University email account if you have accepted your place to study here. If you have not yet accepted your place and wish to do so please contact the relevant Admissions Office/ Student Administration Office. Once we have received your formal acceptance of our offer this email account should be available for use within 48 hours. At this stage this account will also provide you with access to Blackboard.

University email is accessible via Outlook Web Access
Your username will be your <<Student ID>>, which is included in all correspondence (It is normally the first three letters of your surname followed by eight numbers).Your password will be your date of birth (DD/MM/YYYY format, including the forward slashes, e.g. 24th June 1975 would be entered as 24/06/1975).
Current Students Please Note: Students who are moving to a new course or progressing to the next year of study should continue to use the login account already provided. Your account username and password will remain the same. Finally, do remember to check your University email account regularly, as we will send important information to this address.
Network Account
Access to the additional University’s computer services will be made available after 24 hours of fully enrolling. The enrolment process will trigger activation of your Network Account allowing you to login and use the University’s IT Services within 15 days of the session start date. This access will be provided using the same username and password that you use to access both Email and Blackboard. For more information visit IT Services for Students
Password Management
As soon as you've accessed your university e-mail account for the first time, it's important to change your password to something you will remember easily.
- Once you've entered WebMail (Outlook Web Access or OWA) and accessed your inbox using your temporary password, click on the "options" in the top right hand corner.
- Then Click on the "Change Password" option in the left-hand column.
- Now simply enter your temporary/existing password, and your new password twice. Then click 'Save'.
Congratulations! Your password is now set.
Password Self Service and Support
Password Self Service is a simple web service where you can change your password. Forgotten passwords can be reset by visiting https://pss.arts.ac.uk/pwm/public/ForgottenPassword and answering some questions regarding details that are recorded on your student record.
