Research statement

With an interest in how new media has impacted on contemporary modes of fashion communication, MA Fashion Media Production is a live laboratory for the development of new media approaches. The teaching of fashion film which has been core to the programme has resulted in numerous symposiums and in July 2014, an LCF conference entitled: New Medium, Diverse Messages, Convention & Transgression in the Fashion Film.

Aside from this, the theme of my MA in 2007 which was entitled ‘Undressing the Criminal Icon, 1959 – 1969’ is a subject that continues to be developed. Most recently with a chapter in Berg’s ‘Fashion Media, Past & Present’ entitled ‘Caught on Camera: The Fashioned Body and the Criminal Body’.
