Home is where the Art is: An examination of the display of art within domestic spaces.
London College of Communication
This is a practice-based PhD project investigating the display of visual art in the home. Primarily the research project will be rooted in the practice of photography but I also aim to conduct oral interviews with my participants to support my research. More specifically I will create a series of photographs that examines the relationships between the domestic space of the home, owner and the art within it. My work will question the agency of the artwork, the performative nature of the owner and the art itself and interrogate and consider the wider cultural meanings produced through the relationships between taste, design, consumerism, display and identity.
