Almost a century after the Armenian Massacres the Turkish government still denies recognition of the 1915-16 genocide that resulted the loss of more than 1.5 million Armenians and the displacement of more than 1.5 million survivors, in my family’s instance to Greece.

Through the analysis of the representation and materiality of the archives, photos, objects and other testimonials found in my family archive, this practice-based PhD researches the way in which materiality impacts on memory, postmemory, trauma and forgetting.
