Out of context - reinterpretation of experience in interactive environment

Central Saint Martins

For the past ten years, I have been moving between Taipei, Philadelphia, Chicago, New York, and most recently the east end of London. The research thus raises the questions of how to understand the nature of these transnational journeys through art practice? How is subjectivity maintained and how can this be captured and reflected through practice?

The research aims to explore the maintenance and loss of identity by revealing through art practice the dialogue between the migrational self and location. Using lightweight technology, such as cameras or mobile phones as a documenting and archiving tool, the research analyses the transnational urban experience through the capture of the everyday.
