Something to hold onto: The re-materialisation of research in moving image practice
Central Saint Martins
This project centres upon my own practice and experience as a resource to examine and interrogate the processes and re-materialisation of research in artist’s moving image practice. The intention is to consider the role of filmmaker as archivist and in doing so practically and critically negotiate what a suitable ‘housing’ for research material outside or alongside a filmic presentation would be.
To contextualise the project I will examine and consider the status and the problematised notion of research practices in the contemporary moving image field and respond to the lack of cohesive representation in scholarship.
