Using the Database
|
|
The database is fully searchable. A quick search includes title, artist and year. A detailed search can additionally include gauge, format, distributor, venue first exhibited and a number of other fields of information.
A quick search might provide you with:
- The date of a particular work
- The filmography of an individual artist
- A list of works made in a particular year
A detailed search might include:
- A list of works exhibited at a particular venue, or
- A list of works made in specific formats or gauges.
As each field is searchable, it is possible to ask complex questions. For example to search for installations exhibited in 1977 using Super 8 film shot in black and white.
Information is returned as a basic list of works, each of which offers links to a display of all information held in the database for that particular entry.
