CLIP CETL
Creative Learning in Practice
Centre for Excellence in Teaching and Learning
This website is an archive of the CLIP CETL, providing valuable resources that were a result of the outcomes of the project from 2005 - 2010.
The CLIP CETL (Creative Learning in Practice ) was one of 74 Centres for Excellence in Teaching and Learning throughout England and was established with £4.5 million of funding over 5 years from the Higher Education Funding Council for England. Its remit was to invest £2million in equipment and resources and run numerous projects to reward excellent teaching practice, and to further invest in that practice so that it delivered substantial benefits to students, teachers, colleges and the University.
The five year funding for University of the Arts London's Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CETL) ended in March 2010. University of the Arts London will continue some of the key work and opportunities provided by the CETL through the Centre for Learning and Teaching in Art and Design (CLTAD). The University Executive has agreed to changes within CLTAD to incorporate a Creative Learning In Practice (CLIP) post to promote and support development to enhance teaching and learning locally and to continue to develop the networks for learning and research in art and design pedagogies that the CETL and CLTAD have begun. This activity will be enabled through secondments from the four colleges and central services to CLIP CLTAD and by the allocation of college funds to continue to offer annual Fellowships to Arts London staff. In economically challenging times this commitment to developing expertise from the bottom up recognises and values the contribution staff make to the students' experience.
