Collection news
University of the Arts London is working to make our collections available to all:
- The london college of fashion archive centre have published their latest special collection on the VADS Visual Arts Website. The Gala Collection contains advertising for the make-up company and provides an insight to fashion trends and advertising photography. Other collections are also available.
- The university archives and special collections centre have published posters and advertising work from the Tom Eckersley Collection on the VADS Visual Arts Website. The collection contains work by leading 20th century poster designer Tom Eckersley, the posters were collected by Eckersley to illustrate his own work and include commissions for Guinness, Transport for London, WWF and ROSPA/Ministry of Information. They span from 1940's-1990's and therefore provide an insight to changes in design and culture.
- The London College of Communication have published the Decorated Books form the Netherlands Collection on the VADS Visual Arts Website. The collection of Dutch books with decorated trade bindings provides primary source material for bookbinding research, 1893-1939.
- The university archives and special collections centre collection descriptions and three online exhibtions are available on the Archives Hub.
