This guide concentrate on sites which would be useful in the studying or making of films. Promotional sites for individual films, especially American independent productions, can be very informative and often include interviews with the film makers, cast and crew. Such sites can be found using search engines like Yahoo.

Bibliographies
University of Berkeley’s site has lots of film bibliographies and links. It includes extensive bibliographies of film noir, the war in Vietnam in the movies, particular directors, and much, much more.

The Internet Movie Database
The internet movie database is the classic film reference site. It has cast and credits information for more than 170,000 films, plus links to fan based and critical material.

This is an industry orientated body dedicated to the promotion of film making as an industry in the UK. Their home page has lots of contacts, information and addresses to this end.

Official bfi website. Includes links to the bfi national library and it's online catalogue.

The British Universities Film & Video Council
The BUFVC promotes the production, study, and use of film and related media in Higher Education and research. The Photography section has links to sites on early film and the Moving Image Gateway (MIG) collects together sites related to moving images and sound.
