Anna Symon − MA Screenwriting
From London, Anna Symon is a writer for TV and radio for organisations including the BBC and Channel 4 – graduating from the MA Screenwriting course at London College of Communication in 2007.
What are your fondest memories of LCC?
Having your work read and discussed, although at the time was my least fond part of LCC, was in retrospect the most useful. The best memories were forged afterwards in the bar.
What are you working at the moment?
Indian Summers for Channel 4.
If you could have been a writer for any film ever made which would it be?
The film I haven't written yet.
What are three things you couldn't be creative without?
Brockwell park, tea and deadlines.
If you could work on any TV show past or present, which would it be?
Six Feet Under.
What are your future plans and ambitions?
To have my own series on TV.
What drives you to succeed?
My love of writing and my fear of failure.
What piece of advice would you give to new students?
Go to the pub after writing workshops, and before as well if needed.
Where in London do you go when you need a little inspiration?
Elephant and Castle!
