Alejo Restrepo took the Interaction and Moving Image pathway of BA (Hons) Graphic and Media Design. He has gone on to direct numerous films, including Firewalker which was nominated for the Young Director’s Award at Cannes 2015.

What did you study at LCC and what year did you graduate?

I studied BA (Hons) Graphic and Media Design - Interaction and Moving Image pathway.

Where are you from in the world? 

I’m from Colombia.

What are your fondest memories of LCC?

The freedom to explore creatively. My Interaction and Moving Image (IMI) tutors.

What are you working at the moment? 

I’m an advertising director in Paris, also represented in Spain, the USA, and Central America.

Name three things you couldn't be creative without: 

Happiness, films, music.

What drives you to succeed?

The passion that I have for what I do. 

What three words would you use to best describe LCC?

Creativity, diversity, freedom. 

What piece of advice would you give to new students? 

It’s only up to you to explore and to find your own path, if you dedicate your time at LCC to doing so, the team and facilities will take you far.

Where in London do you go when you need a little inspiration? 

The streets, the diversity of cultures in London are perfect inspiration.
