David Sims

David Sims - Programme Director, Graphic Communication

David is the Programme Director for Graphic Design Communication at London College of Communication, where he looks after both the undergraduate and postgraduate courses in the programme.

Previous posts include Course Leader for BA (Hons) Graphic and Media Design and Principal Lecturer on the FdA Design for Graphic Communication at LCC, as well as a combination of roles in both course management and teaching at FE level.

David’s continuing research output has focused on the use of technology in learning and teaching. He recently worked with the Institute of Education on exploring best practice approaches to assessment in pre-degree arts qualifications.

David collaborated with the UAL Awarding Body on a review of the Art and Design Key Stage 4 specifications for GCSE and A-level. He is also working on the redevelopment of the Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Creative Media at UAL.

David is currently developing a data visualisation community of practice and research hub at LCC and has helped to develop the MA Data Visualisation at LCC. He has presented to industry and at conferences globally.
