Steve Wheen

Steve Wheen is MD (Master Distiller) of The Distillery London, a social video agency specialising in video strategy and production. He is an award winning creative producer and filmmaker, with almost 15 years of broadcast and digital international producing experience. With a strong focus on production and video strategy, he has managed projects alongside, and for, London’s Google Creative Lab - creating video content for the Google and YouTube brand, as well as their high profile partners such as Virgin, Cadbury and Heal with talent such as Jessie J and Annie Lennox. Completing his Masters in design (Applied Imagination) with a distinction from Central Saint Martins in 2010, he focused his work around social television and creating social video experiences. A branded content expert, Steve has worked on ground breaking branded content projects, for clients such as Audi, Renault and Lancia. He was also a part of Al Gore's Emmy Award winning online and broadcast channel, Current TV. Working for both established advertising agencies and online startups, Steve has deep experience in building online communities around video.

Matthew Gardiner

Matthew Gardiner is a communications consultant specialising in social media and digital marketing. A former thought leadership and inbound marketing practitioner to Price Waterhouse Coopers’ Management Board, Matthew has worked with a wide range of FTSE 100 and public sector clients including The Department for Energy and Climate Change, Siemens, BP, BT, O2, Spectrum (4G), Ofcom, The BBC (iPlayer), The Internet Advisory Bureau, Saatchi, HSBC and Santander. He is a founding partner of Catch London, a boutique digital marketing agency based in the heart of London’s Tech City with a presence in Silicon Valley and New York.  Matthew works with high growth tech start-ups, SME and corporate clients including Lenovo and Dragon’s Den. He also facilitates seminars and workshops with highly engaging results. Most recently he has spoken at Google Campus, Tech Hub & General Assembly, US based The One Club at Mother London. He has recently judged emerging technology competitions for Lenovo’s Inspired campaign & Orrick’s Start-up Leadership’s Strategy competitions. Matthew is connected to a wide network of thought leaders & key influencers globally in the fast paced world of social media & technology. He attends key international conferences and has most recently joined the global Open Government Partnership Summit #OGP13 Campus Party Europe, LeWeb in London & Paris, Web Conference SXSW Texas. David Penfold 

David Penfold has worked in publishing for 40 years in various roles, including proofreading and copy-editing. In recent years he has been Deputy Course Director of the Publishing MA at the London College of Communication. He is also the Convener of the ISO Working Group developing an international proofreading standard.
