These three week-courses, designed and delivered by the same tutors who teach on our undergraduate degrees, offer an intensive mix of practical projects, individual tutorials, and visits to cultural hotspots. Located in a busy part of South East London, we list the London Eye, the South Bank film, art and theatre complex, and Shakespeare’s Globe amongst our near neighbours.

Our courses are taught at undergraduate level and are suitable for students from a range of backgrounds including current students, graduates and professionals.
Academic: You should have some prior experience of the subject you wish to study. If you are coming from North America you should have a GPA of around 3.0 or higher. If you have have questions about your academic background, please email the short courses team at firstname.lastname@example.org.
English: You should be proficient in written and spoken English and be able to participate in group discussions and make presentations in English. As a guideline we would expect you to have an IELTS score of 6.0. The Language Centre at University of the Arts London offers English courses for overseas students.

You can make an application via the Summer Study Abroad Application form. This will ask you for details of your previous studies and your reasons for applying. For some courses you may be asked to submit examples of your work.

English Plus Communication
We also run courses combining English language learning with practical classes in design and media subjects. You will be given an introduction to various areas of study including advertising, design and photography. The programme consists of practical work in the studio, group work and visits to museums and organisations across London.
These programmes are ideal for you if you:
- Would like to combine English language learning with a creative course
- Want to apply to a full-time University course but do not have a portfolio to support your application
- Would like to find out more communication studies
