Radio is an exciting and growing medium for journalism. It remains one of the fastest ways to break news, and gives you a relationship with your audience that few other mediums can offer.

Delivered over two days, this course will introduce you to the process of telling a story with sound. It covers different aspects of radio journalism from on-ground reports and dispatches to writing for radio, obtaining sound-bites and producing bulletins – the wide-ranging introductory nature of the course makes it perfect for those with little or of no experience in radio.

Tutor information

This course will be taught by a respected industry expert.
Charmaine Cozier completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Broadcast Journalism at LCC. Since then she has spent more than ten years as a reporter, presenter, producer and senior editor with the BBC. Charmaine’s experience includes Radio 5 Live, Radio 4’s current affairs unit, 1Xtra and more recently Radio 1 where she edited two daily live editions of Newsbeat and was also responsible for growing Newsbeat’s online and social media presence. Charmaine has also worked as a journalism tutor for the BBC’s Journalism Trainee Scheme.
