This fun course will introduce you to experimental photography. You will have the opportunity to work in our darkrooms and explore composition, surrealism and traditional darkroom printing techniques. 

Taught through a series of demonstrations and exercises, this practical skills-based course will help you create a new series of photograms and feel confident about working in the darkroom.

Please note this course is suitable for you if you are applying for further study at London College of Communication, but does not guarantee entry.

  • Support an application for work or study with a body of work and a greater confidence to talk about it.

Who Should Attend
This course is suitable for you if you between 16 – 18 year olds and interested photography and design and in exploring the darkroom and what it has to offer.

Level
Beginner: You do not need any previous experience.

Tutor information

Ella McCartney completed a Fine Art MA at the Royal Academy of Art and a first class degree in History of Art and Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, University of London. Ella has exhibited her work Nationally and Internationally.

She has recently delivered learning experiences at the University of Cambridge Museums, Design Museum, Tate Modern, Saatchi Gallery and University of the Arts London. She works as a lecturer in the UK and Europe. 



Materials

Students will need to bring in note sketch books and pencils or pens.

Please note you will be expected to pay for printing and photocopying if required during this course.
