Adobe After Effects is one of the principal platforms used in the motion graphics and animation sectors. Used primarily for creating motion graphics and visual effects, countless film and TV opening sequences and trailers were made using this software.
This three day course is designed for people wanting to understand the basic parameters of this industry standard, the program contains a series of engaging tutor demonstrations and practical exercises that give you the chance to apply your learning to live projects.
- Using filters
- Adjustment layers
- Rendering movies
By the end of this course you should be able to:
- Use key-frames to animate an object’s parameters such as scale, opacity, anchor point, position
- Apply a range of filters to derive to a desired visual outcome
- Render a movie to create a baked .mov file
- Apply track mattes and masks

Beginner: You do not need any prior knowledge of Adobe After Effects. Experience using CC platforms such as Photoshop or Illustrator will be to your advantage, but not necessary.

Marco Eastwood is a Digital Technician and software trainer at LCC. He completed a BA in Music Technology and Digital Media in 2009 and has since been active in the industry as a sound engineer, videographer and tutor.
Marco has several years experience of teaching media and technical related subjects for government-funded projects, for schools and companies such as Point Blank, Rolling Sound, Petchey Academy; and is ACE accredited by Adobe.
In 2009, he ran a workshop for an Israeli charity called Windows: Channels for Communication . It brought together young Palestinians and Israelis into a dialogue of understanding through music and video production.
Marco runs regular workshops on video and motion graphics for students at LCC and has recently started a video production company focusing on events and corporate videos.
Zak Peric is a freelance artist, senior lecturer, co-ordinator and trainer, teaching for London College of Communication, Tower Hamlets College, Media Training and Life Long Learning-Tower Hamlets. Throughout his fourteen years of working in the education/design industry he has taught many different disciplines within creative arts. In addition he delivers Apple training for Apple Motion and writes creative computing and design software reviews. His blog serves as a platform through which visitors are able to learn different digital techniques through the use of online video tutorials.
