QBE – creating art installations for new offices

QBE Business Insurance commissioned students from London College of Communication and Chelsea College of Arts to create art installations for their newly refurbished London office.

Leading specialist commercial insurer and reinsurer QBE refurbished their London offices and challenged students from LCC’s BA (Hons) Illustration and Visual Media and Chelsea’s MA Fine Art to propose art installations that would bring the outside in to their new office environment.

Students presented ideas in a wide variety of mediums, including bright acrylic paintings, huge handmade tapestries, sculptures made from recycled materials, a dramatic chandelier and interactive installations.
After the process, QBE commissioned 13 pieces to be produced by the students. They are currently being exhibited on rotation in QBE’s Plantation Place office.
