Study Abroad and Exchanges
If you are a student at a university in a country outside the UK, there are three ways you can can join University of the Arts London (UAL) for a short period of study as part of your BA or MA degree:
- Study Abroad
- Erasmus exchanges
- Other exchanges
All options allow you to transfer credit earned at UAL to your home institution. We also offer a diverse range of short courses (see the bottom of this page).
Study Abroad
You can join one of our BA courses for one, two or three terms as a Study Abroad student, where no formal exchange agreement exists (or where there are more students who wish to join UAL than there are places under the exchange agreement). Summer Study Abroad options are also available. Find out more on our Study Abroad web pages or email studyabroad@arts.ac.uk.
Erasmus exchanges
EU students at institutions that have an Erasmus exchange agreement with UAL can study alongside our BA students as an Erasmus student. Erasmus exchanges are usually for one term, but are occasionally longer. Ask your home institution whether an Erasmus exchange agreement is in place and how to apply. Alternatively, contact erasmus@arts.ac.uk or visit our Erasmus web pages.
Other exchanges
Some of the individual departments at our Colleges have formal exchange agreements with certain institutions around the world (both within the EU and the rest of the world). Students at one of these institutions can study alongside our BA students as an exchange student, usually for one term and occasionally longer. Ask your home institution whether an exchange agreement is in place and how to apply.
Short courses
In addition to our three exchange options, we offer a diverse programme of short courses across the six Colleges, which cover subjects such as art, design, fashion, business and more. There are courses designed for all levels of learning and are aimed at anyone interested in developing a skill or interest, not just undergraduate students. Find out more about short courses.
