Living in London as an International Student


The University of the Arts London Students Union organise a range of events for students in all five colleges including an annual exhibition of students work in the High Holborn Gallery. You will also be invited to join the International Society. For information, go to the Students Union website.

International Students House is a centre for international students in London. They organise social and cultural events throughout the year including free cinema every Sunday evening, discount trips around the UK and in Europe, sports clubs, musical events and lots more. For more information visit the ISH website. The University is a member so all students can join free of charge.

Short-term Homestay. There is an organisation in the UK called HOST which organizes visits with UK families for international students. The University is a member so our students can apply to spend a day, a weekend or one of the holidays, for example Christmas with their family. For more information have a look at the HOST website.

International Events in London. London is a very international city and there are hundreds of cultural events happening every day. For information on whats on in London go to Time Out website or you can buy the weekly magazine.

The Guardian newspaper on Saturdays has a weekly guide to whats on.

The Evening Standard has a free weekly guide to what's on every Thursday.

The National Film Theatre often run film seasons featuring directors from different countries.

There are chaplains who work at the University who you can meet and talk to about your religion. They can also help you find a place of worship or community group in London. Further information can be obtained from the chaplains section of the website.
