International Apply

Help with your application

There is a lot of support available to help international students apply to University of the Arts London (UAL) from around the world.

  • UAL has official representatives in many countries who can assist you through every stage of the application process, from choosing a course to arranging an interview.
  • If you prefer to apply independently or we do not have a representative in your country, the International Offices at our Colleges can help you with your application.

Steps to apply

The following steps are for taught degrees at University of the Arts London. Visit our research pages for information about applying to our reseach degrees.

  1. Choose your course.
  2. Check you meet the entry requirements.
  3. Prepare your portfolio.
  4. Prepare your supporting documents.
  5. Submit your application.

Selection process

Your application will be assessed by a member of our academic staff. This can take several weeks, but we try to process applications as quickly as possible.

If your application meets the course entry requirements, you may be invited to an interview and portfolio review. If you apply through one of our overseas recruitment representatives, the interview is normally held in your country with one of our academic staff. If you apply directly to a College, the interview will normally be held at the College or by telephone.

After you receive an offer

Once you have received an offer, you will need to apply for a visa to study in the UK if you do not hold an EEA passport. You can check the latest immigration requirements on our Visa pages and the UK Border Agency website.

You will also need to apply for accommodation in London. Check our accommodation pages for advice for international students.
