The accommodation consists of three blocks of self-contained flats with 24 hour access.
The apartments overlook a tree-lined square and gardens in Hackney. There is a large common room with a chilled water machine, pool table and satellite TV. There is a launderette on site.
The hall of residence office is open Monday to Friday and a Resident Warden is on call outside office hours. There are shops, banks, pubs, restaurants and cafes nearby, as well as the Hackney Empire theatre, The Ocean music venue as well as London Fields Park with open air swimming pool.
Travel
Cordwainers Court is located in Zone 2 of the London Transport system, 10 minutes by bus from Bethnal Green station on the Central Line of London Underground and then 15 minutes by Underground to Oxford Circus. Frequent day/night buses run to and from Central London (35 minutes).

The Facts
Accommodation at Cordainers Court is Self-Catering and all rooms are single bedrooms
Each apartment has four individual single study bedrooms, each with its own washbasin sharing kitchen/dining rooms and shower facilities. Residents are expected to make their own beds and do their own cooking, cleaning and laundry. A Bedding Bundle - 1 pillow, 1 pillow case, 1 fitted sheet, 1 duvet, 1 duvet cover, 1 towel 1 mattress cover - is provided free of charge. Residents are expected to wash their own bed linen during their stay.
Service Level
Residents are expected to clean and remove rubbish from all areas within their flat, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. The University provides a limited cleaning service for the common room and stairwells. There is a coin operated laundry on site. A limited amount of crockery and cutlery is provided, residents may bring their own utensils or these may be purchased cheaply from nearby shops. There are no lifts at Cordwainers Court - please ask if you require a ground or lower floor room. Unfortunately, we are unable to accommodate children under age 14.
