Halls of Residence
Do you need a room for 2009/10?
We currently still have availability at our new site Emily Bowes Court.
For further information on all of our available accommodation go to our News section. To then apply for accommodation go to our How to Apply section and complete an application form.
University managed accommodation offers accommodation to fit most budgets and tastes. We have 12 residences throughout south, southeast and east London, varying from small independent houses to the more traditional halls of residence.
In 2009/10 academic year we are able to offer 2,937 rooms for University students. The rents range from £81 to £208 per week subject to the location and facilities available. Rooms in the University's 12 halls of residence are allocated primarily to new and first year students, with priority going to the following students:
1. disability or medical condition
2. under age 18
3. distance from London to your permanent home address
Regretfully, there are not enough rooms in the halls of residence to accommodate all of the University's students. Please indicate your preferred three halls on the application form, and we will do our best to see that you are placed in one of these three. If your preferred halls are full, we will normally offer you a room in an alternative hall of residence.
For students applying for the academic year starting September 2009/10, the application form for halls should be returned to us before Friday 5th June 2009. Application forms received after this date will only be considered if there are any vacancies. We will advise you by the end of June by email if you have been successful in your application. We do accept late applications and subsequent allocations will be made throughout the summer as and when vacancies occur.
Should you wish to stay in private rented accommodation or not be allocated a place in halls, we will provide you with more detailed information on our services and initiatives such as house hunting workshops and flat share schemes to assist you in the task of finding a home whilst you are here.
Over the following pages you will find more detailed information of our halls of residences, their locations, how to apply and the halls fees.
