Viktorija is studying MA Artefact and pushing boundaries with her futuristic designs and innovative production methods.
Why did you choose to study MA Fashion Artefact at LCF?
Because Fashion Artefact is a very unique course that combines fashion accessories and art together. I’ve been watching Artefact students for a couple of years because we had to share the same workshop and I absolutely fell in love with the course.
What were you doing before joining the course?
I was studying Fashion Jewellery at LCF.
Tell me about your experience of the course. What are the highlights so far?
MA Fashion Artefacts is an amazing course. It’s a hands on and self-directed course that gives you an opportunity to find your own way of thinking, creating and making. Also it pushes you to think outside of the box.
What is the balance of theoretical and practical work on the course?
We have to use all the theoretical research and knowledge by testing and finding new approaches and materials.
Can you tell us about your interest in the automotive industry, robotics and ’Transformers’?
I felt like something was missing in the jewellery industry and most of the techniques were done over and over again. Since I was always drawn to robotics, automotive and engineering I’ve decide to combine it all, adding innovative designs.
What are the benefits for consumers of buying into fashion tech?
Fashion tech offers excitement to consumers, and forces them to try new options.
What are you most excited about in terms of the future of digital fashion and fashion tech?
That Fashion and technology can work together, hand in hand, creating a new perspective for the future of design.
What are you plans for after you’ve left LCF?
Well at the moment I’ve got a team of three people and we are working on new generation jewllery brand Viktorija Agne, which we are planning to launch in spring 2016.
What advice would you give students considering studying on this course?
Work really really really hard !!!
