Baartmans and Siegel is quickly becoming a brand to watch, garnering support from top industry figures. The design duo were featured as part of Esquire and Colin McDowell’s Brilliant Brits and have presented collections under the banner of Lulu Kennedy’s Fashion East, at London Fashion Week.
Baartmans and Siegel met whilst working at Viktor and Rolf. They launched their first collection for SS11, showing at London Fashion Week as part of the ‘Ones to watch’ showcase. The brand is stocked by prestigious stores including Harrods and The Shop at Bluebird. They were also the first menswear label to receive the Harrods Launches award.
Amber Siegel was drawn to fabrics, textures and patterns from a young age and found that she enjoyed the structure and heritage of menswear, explaining that, for her "It felt quite natural to continue and graduate in menswear." While Wouter is driven by technical clarity, innovation and achievement, Siegel is "seduced by an initial surface aesthetic".
With meticulous attention to detail, Baartmans and Siegel offer refined menswear that focuses on beautiful fabrics that seduce, and shapes that are accessible yet distinctive. Collaborations have included the widely acclaimed suede-tipped Brogue range with English shoemakers Grenson and an ongoing partnership with Netherlands-based fur company Fur Lab.
