Description

This advanced-level fashion buying course is for those who have already completed 'Introduction to Fashion Buying & Merchandising' and 'Fashion Buying & Merchandising: Buying and/or Merchandising Techniques'.  The course gives you a more in depth understanding of the Buying and Merchandising roles. Through the use of lectures, workshops, practical exercises and group work you will explore aspects of the fashion buyer and merchandiser roles including analysing macro and micro research to draw up a merchandise plan and create a range plan for a specific fashion retailer.

The course includes:

  • An exploration of ECR (efficient consumer response), CRM and an insight into consumer demand theories
  • Merchandising analysis and stock management at store level and across omni-channels
  • An insight into the Open to Buy calculation
  • Different ways to spend the Open to Buy
  • The link between store grading, distribution mix, stock management and allocation with profitability
  • Supply chain analysis and integrated supply chain strategies
  • The changing buying and merchandising roles in the current global market

The projects you'll be asked to undertake involve mathematical formulae therefore it's essential you have an understanding of maths to GCSE level C or equivalent.
