Description

This is a great introduction into the leather accessories making process and will help you develop essential sewing skills. To start, you will learn how to thread a cylinder arm machine and wind a bobbin.  You will then progress to learning a range of stitch techniques. By the end of the two days you will have made a pack of stitch samples and be confident in using industrial sewing machines. You will also create a fabric bag to keep all your samples in.

The course includes:

  • Threading the cyclinder arm machine
  • Winding a bobbin
  • Using the cylinder arm machine
  • Stitch samples for all styles of bags (machine turned and structured bag)
  • Some decorative stitch techniques such as binding
  • How to stitch a curved based bag 

Level:

Beginners. You should have an interest in the subject area and a desire to learn but no previous experience is required.


Booking:

Your course place is confirmed once you have booked online or via the phone using a credit or debit card. There is no deadline for booking. Places are offered on a first come, first served basis, and all courses have a maximum number of students. We suggest you book early to avoid disappointment.

In order to fully participate in the practical exercises please bring the following materials/equipment to the first class:

  • Notebook
  • Small sharp scissors
