In order to reduce the amount of waste going to landfill, London College of Fashion has partnered with TRAID, Textile Recycling for Aid and Development, to help us Recycle for Good.

An easy way to recycle your textiles is to simply pop them into one of TRAID’s textile banks. Big green clothing banks have been placed outside the College sites and smaller bins are found in the sewing rooms.

All textiles and clothes are then collected to be sold in TRAID shops or up-cycled under the Brighton based fashion label TRAIDremade. 100% of the profits generated help to educate students in the UK about the impacts of fast fashion and to fight global poverty in some of the world’s poorest communities.

To date, over 25,000 tonnes of textiles have been diverted from landfill, carbon emissions reduced by 350,000 tonnes and over two million pounds raised to fund projects fighting poverty and injustice. All from fabric that could have ended up lying in landfill for decades to come!
