Milltag competition

In the Spring term commonplace teamed up with with Milltag (Camberwell alumnus Ed Cowburn) and the Graphic Design+ Illustration FdA at Camberwell, led by Derek Yates to launch a cycle jersey competition open to all UAL students.

Launched in January, the brief was to design a UAL cycle jersey to celebrate London, cycling and with a nod to the Olympic Games. March saw the judging team come together for a final crit to find a winner and runners up.

Radek Husak, Stage 3 Graphic Design at CSM, took the winner’s title with her jersey entitled ‘Between the Lines’ as illustrated above. Radek described her design as trying to reflect the crossing of the London underground lines and how often the cyclist can be the reflection of that "Hidden" system.
