Theme: Democratising Innovation

Innovation, as concept and action, has become a buzzword for economic success and societal development. As such it has been commodified and protected within the realm of the expert innovator, potentially separated from issues of the common good. Democratising Innovation suggests other means by which innovation might be accessed and developed - through open source, the creative commons, co-design, participation, and other means. This also interrogates the question as to who is the expert, and how innovation works in terms of an ethical engagement.
