Jennie Crisp - Photography
Tell us about yourself…
I have been a photo technician at CSM for nearly 20 years, originally on a temporary term-time only contract for the School of Art. I only expected to stay 6 months...
What’s your background?
My first degree was in Psychology and Biology and I worked in quantitative research in my twenties. I retrained in photographic arts in my thirties studying at Derby University for my BA and Westminster University for my MA, but I’m still partial to an Excel spreadsheet.
How did you come to work at CSM?
I was head hunted at my degree show and assessed on my ability to make a French dressing.
What do you love most about your job?
Working in a team and the variation that each day brings. I like to make things and students work to their full potential.
What's your favourite thing about Central Saint Martins?
The enthusiasm of the students, the humour of the staff, and the vast knowledge of light bulbs and fuses that I have acquired over the years.
Who or what is your biggest inspiration?
Who's your favourite artist/photographer/fashion designer/director?
What advice would you give to new students?
