Jackie Willson

I am a lecturer in Cultural Studies for Jewellery, Textiles and Fashion students at Central Saint Martins.

My background is in Fine Art practice, specifically performance based and my theoretical and historical PhD explored women’s performance art-artiste-activist practice in relation to a politics of representation.

One strand of this was extended into my first publication entitled, 'The Happy Stripper: Pleasures and Politics of the New Burlesque' (2008).

I am currently writing a second book for I.B.Tauris called, 'Being Gorgeous: Feminism, Sexuality and the Pleasures of the Visual', which will be published in 2014.
