I gained a BA(Hons) in Graphic Design (2002) from UAL and an MA in Aesthetics and Art Theory (2004) from Middlesex University. I have also completed a PGCert in Learning and Teaching Art and Design (2011) and am commencing my research degree at UAL in October 2015.
I founded a collective and ran my own business for many years. I worked extensively as an illustrator, artist and designer for a wide range of international clients including Selfridges, MTV, the V&A and Volkswagen. More recently I have completed a number of projects in healthcare environments working with patient and community groups. I am interested in the overlap between design practice and broader sociopolitical issues and have addressed aspects of this in conference presentations and journal articles.
Before working at Central Saint Martins I was an Associate Lecturer at Camberwell, where I developed the ‘Expanded Designer’ - a cross-disciplinary contextual programme that helped students situate their creative practice within a wider sociopolitical framework. At Central Saint Martins I work in various roles across the Graphic Communication Design programme.
