Profile image of BA Graphic Design Stage 1 Leader Emily Wood

Graphic Communication Design Programme; Stage 1 Leader, BA Graphic Design.

I gained a BA Graphic Design, in 2001, from Central Saint Martins. Since graduating I have worked for a number of graphic design studios including Pentagram, Johnson Banks and Bloom, before setting up REG design with Ruth Sykes in 2003.

Since founding REG design both Ruth and I have combined running our company with teaching on BA Graphic Design at Central Saint Martins. We have integrated our specialism of design for social change; including identity design and exhibition design into their teaching practice within the Design and Interaction route on the course.

I am a fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and I completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching and Learning in Art & Design at UAL in 2012, where I researched teaching methods for improving inclusivity with a diverse range of students. I have worked with Widening Participation students, and I am now Stage 1 leader, as well as continuing to teach Design and Interaction to stage 1.

I also have a BSc Geography, Leeds University,1995.
