Biography

I am Course Leader of BA Performance: Design and Practice.

My practice focuses on scenography and performance making. I am interested in performance making from a design-led approach and scenography as a visual dramaturgy.

Currently I am exploring concepts of multi-platformed performance, including extended reality (VR/AR).  In 2018 I received a Jerwood Performing Arts Micro Bursary to develop a 360 VR film project and have recently collaborated with the BBC VR hub as Visual Consultant on an interactive VR game ‘Make Noise’ which was selected for the Venice Biennale in 2018.

My Scenographic practice has been shown extensively in the UK including Barbican, Roundhouse, Sadlers Wells, Southbank Centre, V&A, Roundhouse and International at Ravenna Festival; Italy, Musique Cordiale; France, Cork Festival; Ireland, Arts Printing House; Lithuania.

I am co-artistic director of performance collective Brave New Worlds (Based in the UK and Lithuania).  Our work sits on the intersection between theatre, dance, costume and performance art.  Brave New Worlds have held residencies at the Barbican, as part of their Open Lab Programme, The Point; Eastleigh, Plateau Gallery; Berlin and Arts Printing House; Lithuania.  My work with them was selected as part of the UK Exhibit for Prague Quadrennial and the Make:Believe Exhibition at the V&A in 2015. I exhibited as part of “Costume at the Turn of the Century 1990-2015” at the A.A. Bakhrushin State Central Theatre Museum, Moscow in July 2015.  Performances include the Yard; London, MK Gallery Milton Keynes and Edinburgh Fringe Festival. International performances include ACT festival Bilbao and World Stage Design, Taipei in 2017.
