Biography

I am an art and design educator committed to helping students to explore and understand the creative disciplines. I do this through my teaching, and developing learning materials and experiences for students and applicants. My aim is to support students to engage with research, use critical thinking and to develop a strong creative practice in preparation for undergraduate study and a fulfilling career.

I grew up in London and graduated from Central Saint Martins before working in the design industry as project manager and freelancer. The experience of supporting professional artists, designers and architects to realise ideas and deliver design events still motivates me to help my students develop the complex organisational and communication skills that the creative industries require.

My MA is in Academic Practice and my ongoing research interest relates to student experience and the unique educational environment of the 21st century art school. At UAL I have worked in many different areas including Academic Support, Outreach, Short Courses and International development. In the studio I teach Design and Contextual Practice.

Currently I am Course Leader for UAL's Pre-degree: Online course and Academic Coordinator for the Access and Progression to Higher Education Programme at Central Saint Martins. I am also an external moderator for the UAL Awarding body. I teach online, at CSM Archway and occasionally travel and work overseas on behalf of UAL.
