Biography

My practice draws on legacies of minimalism and literal theatricality, embracing and ramping this up as a part of picture making. I enjoy listening to things. Recent exhibitions and performances have included Studio at Hollybush Gardens, hmn edition 1 at Holborn Library, In the Silence of the Night at IMMA Dublin, Bored by Kindness Swish for Ana Genoves at Cass and Spoken Weird at Whitechapel Gallery.

In 2016 I curated Plucking Feathers and Precarious Pleasures for Westminster Waste, London and convened An Aside to On Stage a symposium, exhibition and workshops bringing together lookers and listeners from art and theatre to consider the noise and voices of objects at Royal Academy of Arts, London. My PhD entitled Moving Slowly or Not At All was conferred in 2015.

My interest in what constitutes an artist and how she is constructed is ongoing; I am currently experimenting with modes of documentation for an exhibition, other than through photography.
