Biography

I am a researcher, curator and artist, with a PhD in Fine Arts from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

I am currently holder of a postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Sao Paulo (FAPESP).

My research work focuses on coloniality, migration, otherness, translation, and art in Latin America with special attention to Brazilian Art. I am currently Associated Researcher at Forum Permanete and Instituto de Estudos Avançados, University of Sao Paulo. I was a co-founder of the independent research group Peninsula, procesos coloniales y prácticas artísticas y curatoriales in collaboration with Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia and a researcher for the AHRC project Meeting Margins: Transnational Art in Europe & Latin America 1950-1978, University of Essex and University of the Arts London.

Since 2008 I have been teaching at the European University of Madrid, and at the MA of Curating Latin American Art at the University of Essex. I have curated exhibitions and events for Matadero Madrid, Universidad Complutense/Medialab and Le Cube in Rabat, among others. I have also collaborated with a variety of publications, such as Versión/sur, Concinnitas, Revista de Occidente, Bilboquet, Re-visiones, Lugar Común, and others.
