I come from an international development background where for years I worked in the humanitarian and development sectors and have completed my Master’s degree. I have worked on humanitarian responses to many conflicts and natural disasters including on: Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Solomon Islands floods, South Sudan conflict and I lived in Afghanistan for a year (one of the best years of my life so far).
For the past five years, I’ve worked on issues affecting women and girls including on campaigns addressing maternal and newborn health and female genital mutilation. Currently I’m a Commercial Manager at Girl Effect which is changing the way adolescent girls see themselves as well as how their communities perceive girls.
Some of my personal interests are similarly aligned with what my day job is, I am a Trustee of various women’s organisations for example. To keep myself reasonably fit to change the world, I try to keep fit in the gym, by running, and by playing the occasional round of golf with my mum.
