Interview

Why did you decide to study at Central Saint Martins?

I decided to move away from the beauty of Paris to discover the freedom of London. Saint Martins is an internationally acclaimed school mixing quality of training and freedom of expression.

What was the best bit about living and studying in London?

Living and studying in London makes everything possible. You have an idea, in one week you can find the place and the people to make it real. It's also better if you have a bit of money on your side.

What top tips would you give to students who are beginning their studies?

Be yourself. Take all the feedback from your tutors and friends as opportunities to grow and go forward. You have an idea? Do it! "There are no bad ideas, only bad productions." Another good one is: "Mistakes are there to make you learn something new!"

And for students about to graduate?

Keep in touch. Never give up. You'll get there. Because, there is only one rule: "What you focus on expand".

What are you up to now? How did you get there?

I am now preparing a performance/painting exhibition at the Euroart Open Studios  (5-7 June 2009) and will very soon find a gallery to exhibit my work.

How has Central Saint Martins helped in your chosen career path?

Studying design for theatre helped me consider the space as a friend. I am now able to conciliate set design, painting and performance - my three passions in life.
