I loved art and design from a young age, got a place at Central Saint Martins, second year won a place at UTS, Sydney. Graduated 2005.... moved to Sweden for 2 years... travelled the world, got back to London in 2007, and got a job working at Penguin Books as an Online Designer.
Why did you decide to study at Central Saint Martins?
Its reputation alone stands for itself. Also it offered a really extensive course, which was what I was after.
What was the best bit about living and studying in London?
The opportunities that arise out of nowhere... everyday is a different story.
What top tips would you give to students who are beginning their studies?
Take all the opportunities that you can, and stay in the loop - it really helps. Oh and don't spend all of your student loan... you have to pay it back some day!
And for students about to graduate?
Don't be scared of the real world, it's a hell of a lot easier than studying.
What are you up to now? How did you get there?
Currently I'm working at Penguin Books as an Online Designer. After I graduated I moved over to Sweden and enrolled myself on a Swedish course and found work as a Designer. It's always been in me to travel so after a year and a half of saving I packed up my camera and headed to Asia.
Nine months down the road and with five continents under my belt I headed home for the UK. Since my return I have been working as a graphic designer in Battersea and then I secured a position at Penguin. It's been a bit of a rollercoaster ride, but now I'm strapped in!
