“All of these student collections were nervy in their own way, some dazzlingly so. But what was most impressive was that each and every effort was rigorous, the risk-taking matched by terrific technique.” - Maya Singer, style.com
The exhibition was kindly sponsored by mannequin specialists Rootstein.
Elaborate: Retro Vision of the Future
Moving image is in a state of relentless re-invention and Elaborate harnsesses these uncertainties, playing with notions of perception, observation and identification. This exhibition called on emerging moving image designers to pioneer new ways of communicating and connecting with information, audiences and experiences.
As a part of Strangelove: moving image festival, Graphic Communication Design students and recent alumni took over the Lethaby Gallery.
Curated by Senior Lecturer and Moving Image Subject Leader Esteban Gittion and Central Saint Martins students, Elaborate transformed the gallery into a futuristic lab inspired by Edison's Menlo Park Laboratory.
