Aimed at anyone wanting to develop new ways to engage with their audience, this weekend course looks at how and why audience participation is used across the creative industries, and how this can be applied to your own practice.

Through practical workshops, group work and briefs exploring theories of interactivity, you will not only gain a valuable insight into why some audiences are easier to engage than others, but develop your own skills in tailoring an experience to increase participation.

Particularly suitable for people working or interested in the arts or media, programming for museums and cultural heritage, planning events, services or activities for a wide range of audiences. This is useful for anyone wanting to progress into the design of narrative environments - the design of visitor and customer experiences for cultural, commercial and community environments.

Tutor information

With 10 years experience in the museums and heritage industry, Susanne Buck is currently Head of Education at the British Music Experience, an interactive museum of rock and pop based inside The O2, London. Susanne has worked at various national museums and temporary exhibitions including the Science Museum, British Museum, Transport Museum, Body Worlds and Tutankhamun. With a degree in Graphic Design and an MA exploring Creative Practices for Narrative Environments, Susanne's expertise lies in education and audience development for both the museum and the corporate sectors.
